Exploring the digital humanities
We thought this was a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and with the researcher at the lab. A photogrammetry study group was established around the common interest of working digitally with artifacts. We had meetings to discuss and share insights regarding the technicalities of scanning and post-processing and we also planned field trips to the National Museum and Carlsberg Glyptotek to scan real artifacts. This provided us with a great chance to explore and better understand the different needs and perspectives within humanities research, while also showcasing the possibilities that photogrammetry can offer to this kind of research.
As a startup, exploring new territory is as important as the development process. At Rigsters we want to continue learning all the time and we feel that the best way to do this, is by doing projects together with good people. HUMlab at Copenhagen University is an interdisciplinary digital humanities lab, facilitating the exploration of new methods and tools for doing digital research in the humanities.
