The LightArray panel can be accessed from Settings and choosing LightArray.

This document outlines the steps for operating and controlling LightArray using the integration with Arago Control. This manual is subject to updates as the software evolves. 

1. Interface Overview

1. LightArray Connection toggle
Used for enabling and disabling the connection to the LightArray Controller.

2. Toggle for the Continuous Light mode
This mode is useful for checking and adjusting the cross-polarization alignment between the FlashLED and the polarizing filters.

3. Electronic Polarizing Filter

The toggle changes the polarization state (ON/OFF).

4. Flash Mode
There are currently 4 predefined triggering modes:

  • All x1
    This is a standard one-shot mode triggering all 4 Flash LEDs simultaneously, typically used for regular photogrammetry workflows. This mode uses the currently selected Polarizer state.  
  • All x2
    This is a two-shot mode triggering all 4 Flash LEDs simultaneously – once with Polarizer state ON and once OFF.
  • 4-direction x1
    Also known as M-XR mode, it triggers your camera with the LightArray 4 times – once for each Flash LED (from 1 to 4). The Polarizer default state for this mode is OFF. 
    While using this more, it is recommended to remove the magnetic polarizing filters from each Flash LED unit. 
  • 4-direction x2
    Also known as Inciprocal mode, it triggers your camera with the LightArray 8 times – twice for each Flash LED (from 1 to 4) in both ON and OFF polarization states. 

5. Trigger Mode
At the moment, it is necessary to manually select the shooting mode that is currently active on your camera – Single or Continuous (also known as Burst mode).
This affects the way the LightArray is synchronized with your camera’s shutter.

6. Help Button
It links to the online Documentation.

7. Shoot Button
This button triggers the currently selected LightArray Flash Mode.

Using this button will also help calculate travel time estimations by measuring how long it takes to complete the selected sequence with your current camera settings.
